Why do I need to sign an Inspection Agreement?
In December 2007 a new Australian Standard for Residential Building Inspections was published as AS4349. Part of the requirements of this standard is that "An inspection agreement between the client and the inspector be entered into prior to the inspection taking place". The purpose of this agreement is to clarify to you the Client the scope, inclusions and limitations of the inspection and inform you of our qualifications, experience and the cost of your inspection. This inspection agreement lets you know what we do and don't inspect and what our reports will include, so that you know what to expect from our reports.
How do I sign the Agreement?
Once we have received instructions to complete an inspection on your behalf we will email, fax or mail you an Inspection Agreement. Alternatively, one may be downloaded by clicking on the icon below. You will need to thoroughly read the Agreement then sign and initial where indicated. The completed document can be faxed, scanned and emailed or posted back to our office. This should be done as soon as possible. We're required by regulation to have your signed copy prior to undertaking the inspection.
